If you need to move your belongings for Service reasons, you can claim back the cost of transit insurance
Eligibility check:
What’s it for?
Transit insurance is used to cover your personal belongings while they’re transported from one place to another.
If you need to take out transit insurance for Service reasons – for example, when you move from one Duty Station to another – you can use this allowance to claim back the cost.
What do I get?
You’ll receive a refund of your transit insurance cover up to a maximum rate of £71.94 (as from 1 Apr 24). This will be paid into your nominated bank account.
When can’t I use this?
You won’t be able to claim this benefit if you claim Disturbance Expenses.
How do I claim?
Claims are to be submitted on JPA via JPA iexpenses. More information can be found in the Insurance expense self service user guide, which can be found at JPA user guides
If you don’t have access to JPA, then you need complete JPA Form F016, which can be found at JPA forms and submit it to your unit HR admin office.
