Deployment Welfare Package
The MOD provides a comprehensive support package to ensure your wellbeing when you’re deployed
Eligibility check:
What’s it for?
The MOD’s Deployment Welfare Package is designed to minimise the stress of deployment by helping you maintain your physical and mental wellbeing.
The package enables you to retain contact with family and friends; meet your leisure and relaxation needs; and maintain the wider psychological and physiological needs of you and your loved ones.
What do I get?
When you’re deployed for seven days or more, you’ll be eligible to get free phone calls, mail service and WiFi, as well as news and entertainment through the British Forces Broadcasting System – including occasional live entertainment. The package also includes access to fitness equipment and retail services.
When can’t I use this?
You will not normally be eligible for a Deployment Welfare Package if you are likely to receive, or are in receipt of, Local Overseas Allowance.
How do I claim this?
Provisions for the Deployed Welfare Package will be made by the relevant operational headquarters and you don’t need to take any action.
