What’s it for?

Transport for London charge a fee on most motor vehicles operating within a specific central London Zone.  Residents of this Zone are eligible for a 90% discount on the normal charge, but must pay an administrative fee to register their vehicles with Transport for London.  If you live in Service-provided accommodation within the London Congestion Charge Zone, you can use this allowance to cover the actual charge incurred, whether that's the full or the discounted rate.  You can’t claim charges for more than one private vehicle. If you live outside the Congestion Charge Zone, you won’t normally be able to claim this allowance for in respect of Home to Duty travel.

What do I get?

You can claim back the cost of your Congestion Charge payments at the rate incurred, as well as the annual registration fee if you receive a discounted rate.

How do I claim?

If you have a Defence Gateway account you can claim this from your own personal device by following  this link

You can also submit your claim via  JPA iexpenses. More information can be found in the allowances and expenses self-service user guide

If you don’t have access to JPA or a Defence Gateway account, then you need complete JPA Form F016 (which can be found at JPA forms) and submit it to your unit HR admin office.
